Brief Answer: Mostly discharge and burning micturation. Detailed Answer: Dear Friend. Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varrshney. I have read your query in detail. I understand your concern. Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease that can infect both men and women. It can cause infections in the genitals, rectum, and throat. You can get gonorrhea by having anal, vaginal, or oral sex with someone who has gonorrhea. A pregnant woman with gonorrhea can give the infection to her baby during childbirth. Symptoms are : 1. A burning sensation when urinating 2. A white, yellow, or green discharge from the penis, Painful or swollen testicles in males. 3. In females Increased vaginal discharge. 4. Other symptoms like Anal itching,Soreness,Bleeding. 5. Rarely, gonorrhea may cause skin lesions and joint infection, infective endocarditis. Usually if a patient with such symptoms come to us, a history is taken, and if any history of unprotected sexual activity / High risk sexual behavior is found, we suspect Gonorrhea. The incubation period is between 2 to 14 days, with most of these symptoms occurring between 4 and 6 days after being infected. I would be able to help you better, if you could give me details of your problem. Also mention your symptoms, and history of sexual exposure. This is my best opinion for you based on available details. I would be glad to help you further. Stay Healthy.

Brief Answer: Get Tested. Detailed Answer: I understand your concern. If you or your boy friend has/had any previous or simultaneous relationships with any other person, then chances of having a Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) are there. To diagnose gonorrhea, a swab of fluid from the urethra in men or from the cervix in women is taken and is analysed for Gram Stain and PCR. Throat or anal culture can also be taken to see if the infection is in throat or anus. Also, i advise to have a safe play by using Condoms. Because it is always better to avoid these diseases then to take stress of contracting them, then finding them and later treating them. If you have any further query, please ask me.
