Brief Answer: Abnormality of urinary tract should be looked for Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for posting for your query on HealthcareMagic. Recurrent urinary tract infections can be due to malformation or some other abnormality of the urinary tract. A culture of the urine sample is required to isolate the organism causing the infection. A drug sensitivity of the urine sample also needs to done to identify the most appropriate antibiotic effective against the infectious agent. Thereafter you need to consult an urologist to examine the urinary tract. Abnormalities of the urinary tract can lead to recurrent urinary tract. If you have more queries, I will be glad to answer. Brief Answer: Ig deficiency can also cause recurrent infections Detailed Answer: Hello and welcome again, The urinary tract infection will not cause structural changes in the kidney. However, structural changes in the kidney can cause recurrent urinary tract infection. Besides structural abnormalities of the urinary tract, deficiency of certain immunoglobulins can cause repeated infections. However, in deficiency of immunoglobulins, there will be recurrent infections of other organs systems also. Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
