Infected hemorroids (presuming you have a correct diagnosis) are best treated with a drug that has broad spectrum of action on multiple organisms. CEPHALOSPORINS AND FLUOROQUINOLONES can be used with good results.
NITROFURANTOIN is a urinary antibiotic and is not at all useful for gut related infections (Eg; hemorroids) and hence SHOULD NOT be used.
