Question: I have a sore calf that is sore on the inside of the leg, kind of along the tibia where the calf muscle sits against the bone.
Feels lika a tendon or something starting from a about 4 inches above the ankle running upward along the tibia and inner calf and stops about 3 inches below the knee.
It doesnt hurt on the back of my calf or behind the knee.
It feels like i pulled something.
I wasnt too concerned about it because i moved a big queen size bed late saturday evening and i was in sandals lifting and climbing carrying the bed in and out of a big truck.
Anyway, i noticed it the following day.
It doesnt hurt to walk, just some tightness and soreness. Its gotten better but its sore.
I became concerned when i was on the internet reading what i could havr strained and some article mentioned DVT and blood clots.
I read the symptoms and dont feel i fit them.
My leg isnt swollen, red or warm.
It isnt a cramp feeling either, it feels like a strained muscle.
I really dont want to see a doctor again for nothing. My doctor already knows i have health anxiety.
I just dontt know what would warrant the neccesity of a visit?
I still think that moving the bed by myself caused an overuse injury.

Brief Answer:
This is not DVT!

Detailed Answer:
HI and thanks so much for this query.

I have reviewed your information fully. This is NOT DVT. The surrounding circumstance and symptoms are typical of an overuse injury. Carrying loads up and down a stairway is a major risk factor for strained muscles/tendons and ligaments of the leg and foot. I recommend resting the strained legs and taking Ibuprofen 600mg thrice daily.

There is no need for a doctor’s visit at this time.

I hope this guides and helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be for more information and clarifications.

I didnt think so but i read something about leg pain and it said watch out for DVT.
I can definetly tell the muscle and or tendon is sore because when i rub it and move it around, its uncomfortable on that inner side of my calf but the middle and puter sides have no pain.
I also surprisingly noticed that my other calf isnt sore while walking but when i rubbed on the same area of the other calf it was very slightly sore.
Im wondering what i did
?

Brief Answer:
The movements must have caused this!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The movement sup and down the stairs. The fact that the same muscle group on wither side of the body are effected offers more credence to our hypothesis of an overuse injury. Like I mentioned before, rest well and take the above recommended pain medications.

I wish you well and keep me updated with your progress.

Ive read more and from what i can tell it seems like i have inflammed my posterior tibialis.
The description is almost exactly like what im experiencing being in the same area and sore or painful at the side of the tibia.
People refer to this as posterior shin splints but im not sure how sore you can get those things.
I know i moved that bed and heavy frame in and out of my truck, into my house and through my house as i put it together, so it was over 2 hours of lifting that stuff.
Does that sound right?
Is the treatment for it the same?
Thank you
