Question: Hope you can help.
On occasions I get a red/itchy nappy rash on my anus (sorry for details).
I have gone to several doctors and no one seems worried. They have exam it and basically said its like a dermititis. I have had a colonoscopy (12/2015) findings 4mm polyp (tubular adamona with low dispasia- benign) which was totally removed/internal piles/ diverticulosis in the sigmoid colon.
Explained that with diverticular disease you can get mucus in you stools which can cause alittle of the redness.
Today I googled it and scared myself to death. It all come to anal cancer. I also have health anxiety issues so this has frighten me. Can you please clear this up .

Brief Answer:
Don't worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.

This is definitely not anal cancer since this would show some other characteristics and it would already grow significanly in one year.

Also, anal cancer can be seen on proctologist examination. So it is more likely to be perianal skin irritation/dermatitis only and you should not be worried.

Feel free to ask further.

Wish you good health.
Regards
