Question: Hi, This is regarding my brother. His age is 30 years and weight is approx 80 with height 5 feet 8 inches.
He is having pain in his stomach since last few months. After consulting with doctors, we have been told that he is having the problem of Fatty Liver and been asked to reduce his weight. He is also having the problem of diabetes. I am attaching the latest blood test reports for your reference. Also, on the same hand he has been advised to take the vitamin medicine and all. i am not sure whether he is having the correct treatment. It will be around 6 months that he has started taking medicine. And ofcourse, there is a decrease in the amount of ALP and GGTP but iam not sure how serious is the problem is and whether he is getting the correct treatment. Please advise the same.

Brief Answer:
Need more tests

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through the reports and description you have provided.
The reports suggest that your brother has inflammation in the liver.

Before Definitely saying that fatty liver is causing the rise in the enzymes. I would suggest that you get the following tests done
Blood tests for hepatitis B and C, ANA test, serum Ceruloplasmin.

In case the above tests are negative and the ultrasound shows fat in the liver then the most likely diagnosis is fatty liver.
Does your brother consume alcohol? If yes the I would advise him to stop.

The treatment would consist of weight loss of atleast 12 Kg over the next 6 to 8 months.
Strict control of diabetes along with vitamins is indicated. If it indeed is fatty liver the the line of management you brother is getting is correct.
Hope this helps
