Brief Answer:
Low calorie and activity

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.

From your query it seems that you are wheel-chair bound for a few days and you have gained weight.

To keep the weight in check, you have to reduce the calorie intake according to the reduction in activity. You should be taking less than 2000 calories in a day. Avoid high calorie foods like milk products (butter, ghee, cheese, sweets, etc). Upto 3 meals and 3 small snacks should be enough for a day. Drinking more water. Avoid sweetened drinks. Can take milk and curd as it helps in bone formation.

Mostly you will lose the excess fat whenever you are off the wheel chair. Some exercise can still be done under the guidance of a physiotherapist.

Hope it helps.

Brief Answer:
Some exercises can still be done

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

I dont know what level the spine got affected. But I am of opinion that some exercises can still be done. There are many exercises of upper body including some nice yoga postures and physiotherapy exercises. Legs can also be exercised passively and if possible actively. Regarding the abdominal part affected, a physiotherapist would be best able to help you. In yoga, you can do adho mukh svanasana, shavasana, veerbhadrasana, etc in which stress is taken off spine. Maybe you can learn yoga in some course under supervision of a teacher.

Hope it helps.
