Brief Answer:
goal for > 60 is now 150/90, try DASH diet - it is to lower blood pressure

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The JNC 8 guidelines which are the blood pressure guidelines for the US were released in 2014. According to the new guidelines, the blood pressure goal for a person over age 60 is less than 150/90.

It is no longer 140/90.

If you still need the top value (systolic) to be less than 140 then:
If you are a known hypertensive then adjustment of your blood pressure medication within the allowed dose range can be done. This should be done only after discussion with your doctor.

If you are not a known hypertensive then you would need to rely on lifestyle changes but there is no guarantee that they would work.

Lifestyle changes : D.A.S.H diet- this is a diet for persons with increased blood pressure.
It involves-(1)reduced salt
(2) no alcohol use,
(3)water instead of sodas/juices,
(4)reduced frying and fat,
(5)using foods with calcium/potassium/magnesium- these have been found to help decrease blood pressure

You can check the D.A.S.H diet online

Exercise may also help though this usually requires a long time to take effect

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
