Brief Answer:
Drugs proper / need to continue

Detailed Answer:
Dear friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

There is no doubt about the diagnosis of Diabetes – any value above 200 at any time confirms…

Basically there is a deficiency of insulin – compared to the need… The need can be reduced by reducing the weight to normal range or even a bit lower… Also, with time, the capacity of the body to produce can only go down – the cells get depleted and cannot be replenished.
Hence, it is unlikely that the treatment can ever be stopped.
One cannot stop the drugs when controlled - the drugs don't treat the cause (it is mostly inherited and cannot be treated) / they control the effects
Nowadays, the quality and quantum of life is nearly normal and no need for serious concern, when treated well…

GEMER -1 contains metformin hydrochloride (ER) 500 mg, glimepiride 1 mg / Glycomet is metformin alone… There are several classes of drugs and several drugs in each class / as also several proprietary names in various permutation and combinations… The dose and the drug need to be tailored to the individual. The treatment is appropriate and you need follow up

Drugs are only a part of the treatment. Life style changes are important… Diet, Exercise and so on…

Take care
Good luck
