Question: http://imgur.com/pXsoLPO

I took a picture of my toe,the liquid is polysporin (not pus)

I think I may have an ingrown toenail, it has been slightly red for awhile.

Does it look particularly bad? Should I see a doctor or can I just treat it at home? Also does it look infected? It is slightly red around the edge.

Brief Answer:
Surgery, phenolisation

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Ingrown toe nail is a very painful condition. Treatment is surgical, where lateral nail spicule is removed from the matrix and phenolisation of matrix is also done so that recurrence does not occur. The image you have uploaded does not have good resolution. Antibiotic, anti septic and NSAIDs can be prescribed for now if upon clinical examination any evidence of infection is found.
