Brief Answer:
This wound is not that bad..

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I went through the details and the picture uploaded. And from what I see, this looks like a healing wound - the pale pink tissue noted on parts of the wound are signs of healing. Off course there is minimal quantity of slough (which is dead and probably infected tissue) too - the white tissue seen on the edge of this wound and the yellow substance within the wound are the slough. But that can be easily removed by your doctor. I insist that your doctor removes it in order to keep it clean and sterile. Perhaps it's this slough and mild infection that is causing discomfort and minimal swelling. But I am sure you are on good antibiotics to cover possible wound infection.

At this point of time I suggest the following:
1. Continue antibiotics without fail.
2. Do not attempt to touch or handle the wound with barefingers.
3. It is a good idea to cover the wound lightly with sterile gauze as suggested by previous doctors.
4. Keep the foot elevated above the ground and avoid walking/weight bearing.
5. Monitor the wound progress twice daily (look out for more slough formation, increase in the size of wound, presence of foul smell/discharge, increase in pain and swelling).
6. Lastly keep blood sugars under control.

Hope this answers your question.
