Suggest Treatment For Wound Above Left Ear After Injury

Posted on Mon, 14 Sep 2015
Question: My wife fell and cut her head on the left side above the ear in her hair it is about 3/4 inch long and seems to be less than a 1/4 of an inch deep. I had what seemed to be a lot of blood but we cleaned it up and the bleeding has stopped for all practical purposes. It is 4 am and she is now asleep. Just wondering if she would need a stitch or two?

Brief Answer:
The wound needs to be treated further.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

That wound needs microsurgical exploration and probably stitches, because it is located between hair and infection is very probable.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Take care.
