Suggest Treatment For White Substance In Stool And Stomach Cramps

Question: I found a ribbony semi opaque white substance in my stool. It was wide and very thin. Nothing I ate matches. I've had diarrhea-like cramps for a couple of weeks after eating. My stool is not diarrhea though. Could it be anything other than tapeworm?

Brief Answer:
For now, monitor your stools only.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this ribbon-like substance that you observed in your stools. Tape worms would be larger and segmented. This doesn’t match what you described. I will want to consider this an incidental finding at this time and will only recommend further investigations if you come down with digestive symptoms like pain, diarrhea, blood in stool, etc. If this happens, then I will recommend a stool test to make sure there is nothing going on that we are not aware of. If this never repeats itself, please disregard this and do not worry about it again.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
