Suggest Treatment For Vomiting After Food Intake When Diagnosed With Colon Abscess

default
Posted on Thu, 11 May 2017
Question: My friend has advanced Aids, diagnosed 17 years ago. She has stopped her med, CD4 is below 100. She is having urinary problems, losing weight, not eating. She had colon abscesses in January 2017. Treated antibiotics, and recovered. My concern is that her doctors have given up on treatment. He is never available so just sees his nurse. She is very weak, can't eat much and then has vomiting. The urine is scant and thick. What could be some options for her?

Brief Answer:
Please see the detailed answer below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello! I have been through your question.

Based on her history I think that in this case I would recommend hospitalization to have a better follow.
She needs to do some tests and examination like CBC, urine test, urine culture, azotemia, creatinin, abdominal ultrasound and scan CT, genotypic drug-resistance testing (to start an appropriate ARV treatment) and to start as soon as possible a rehydration treatment, antibiotic, antivomitiv and parenteral nutrition(kabiven).

During this time she needs to drink water and red-berries tea little by little, use of primperan or domperidone, and should try to meet an HIV AIDS specialist.

I hope my answer helps you.
Feel free to ask me further.
Regards.
