Brief Answer:
Meftal Spas also contains mefenemic acid an antipyratic present in Meftal P

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for asking on this platform

Meftal Spas contains Mefenemic acid(250 mg) an antipyratic to bring down the temperature and Dicyclomine an antispasmodic(helps in relieving the pain).
Meftal P contains Mefenemic acid(100 mg).
So I wont suggest you to give Meftal P as you have already given the Meftal spas.
Even the dose of mefenemic acid is more in meftal spas(2.5 times)which is adequate for about 25 kg's child(Dose is 10 mg/kg/dose at an interval of 8 hours).
If you want to repeat the dose you may repeat after 8 hours of previous dose.
Other option is to give paracetamol an another antipyratic as mefenemic acid is not working. The dose of paracetamol is 10-15 mg/kg/dose and it can be given at an interval of 6-8 hours. Also do tepid sponging as it helps in bringing down the temperature.
If fever persists even after giving meftal spas and paracetamol or general condition of the child worsens, consult your pediatrician immediately.
I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more query.
Regards

Thank you for the information. I thought Meftal P contains Paracetamol... with your comments I understand that Meftal P doesn't contain Paracetamol. Can we give Ibugesic Plus (Ibuprofen and Paracetamol Suspension)?

Also as I added before we have already given a does of Microcef 50... should it doesn't have any side effect if we give Ibugesic Plur or Paracetamol?

Appropriate you for your quick answer.

Brief Answer:
Better to give paracetamol only

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for follow up

I can understand your concern. But as you have already given one antipyratic I won't suggest you to give Ibugesic plus as it is a combination of ibuprofen and paracetamol(both are antipyratic).
Better to give paracetamol alone and watch for response as injudicious use of antipyratic may cause hypothermia(undesired fall in temperature).

Brief Answer:
You may give paracetamol right now

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for appreciation

If the child is still running fever and you think that meftal spas is not working effectively, you may give paracetamol right now. Also do tepid sponging for better result.
Mefenemic acid is more effective antipyratic and used as a second line medication(if paracetamol does not work). So continue giving paracetamol with Microcef and if fever persists even after giving paracetamol(6-8 hourly),you may also give mefenemic acid(8 hourly).
In case of deterioration in general condition please consult a physician.

Wishing for your child's rapid recovery and good health.
Regards
