Brief Answer:
Varicose Veins in left leg / Under Evaluation

Detailed Answer:
Brief Ans- Varicose Veins in left leg / Under Evaluation

Detailed Answer:
Hi,Dear!! Thanks for the query to HCM.
Read and reviewed the query in context to your health issues, which are
-Problem of Varicose Veins in your left leg
- Family history-of father having Varicose Veins.
More details would be needed, for exploring further suggestions in your case.

My Impression-
In the given scenario,as your father already exposed to Varicose Veins,Chances of You being exposed to similar risks like your father are more in your case.
Predicting variety of risks, needs much evaluation, which would need physical and lab investigations in your particular case.

Do's to avoid risks in general-
So first I would suggest you to Consult with Vascular Surgeon,
Get USG with Colour Doppler and assess it in context to your physical findings and various tests-like lipid profile / need of Blood thinners/ type of job and its risks in relation to Varicose Status of your Veins etc.
-On the above you would need to be assessed and accordingly risk-averting preventive or curative care would be advised to you.

General Do's-
Avoid long standing job work.
Use Venostocks while standing at work.
Take proper care of legs, by resting in a head low position of the bed.
Caring with medicines if need be.
Reducing obesity, with regular walking exercises.
Review of legs every year by USG and Doppler study, to fix any problem in the offing.
Update more details for further suggestions-
Since how long Varicose veins are there in your case?
Whether left / or right or both legs are affected?
If any DVT attack in past?
Any blood thinners you took?or taking now?
Worm like swellings , its location , extent of Varicose Veins in your legs?
Any black patches/with rash itching on leg near ankle / shin?
Update any report on lab test, USG/Doppler reports in past?
Any complications of Varicose Veins, experienced by your father?

Hope this reply would reduce worries with your health issues and would help you to plan further proper care, with help of doctors there.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,Dear!! Thanks for the updated query to HCM.
Read and reviewed the query in context to your health issues with you and your father.
As you and your father are without any problems with Varicose Veins, its very good.

My Impression-
In the given scenario,as your father and You don't have any complications and problems with Varicose Veins,I would just enumerate-type of complications you may get in future, for your knowledge and needful precautionary care-as follows-

Deep Vein Thrombosis and clots in leg veins
- with Embolism of this clot to lungs, and vital organs like kidney, heart, lungs, brain etc.

Ankle and leg oedema with or without ankle/ shin Ulcers/
or skin rash with itching, purple patches.
Perforator engorged Veins in legs.

Do's to avoid risks in general-
So firstly,to assess if any risk is there in your case, I would suggest you to Consult with Vascular Surgeon,
Get USG with Colour Doppler and assess it in context to your physical findings and various tests-like lipid profile / need of Blood thinners/ type of job and its risks in relation to Varicose Status of your Veins etc.
