Suggest Treatment For Uterine Prolapse

default
Posted on Mon, 5 Dec 2016
Question: I am a 67 year old female with uterine prolapse for which surgery is scheduled in early Decebmber.
I also am having rectal prolapse issues -- treatment being discussed. For the moment 1) Is there a sphinctor between the descending color and the sigmoid colon that can be causing problems withe passing stool? 2) Does the dip between the two sections cause problems. I do have some constipated stool for some reason beyond diet and water intake -- perhaps because I was put on Tramodal for other issue. It seems that the prolapse of the rectal tissue throught the anus is involved but also seems as if the problems are actually starting higher up in the system.

Brief Answer:
Prolapse start only in the rectum.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Madam.

Yes sphincter disturbances can cause problems like Rectal prolapse, but this is located between the rectum and the anus and not the descending Colon and Sigmoid colon.

Yes, the dip can contribute to prolapse in few cases.

It's advisable to stop tramadol as it can worsen constipation.

The prolapse start only in the rectum and not higher up.

Post your further questions if any.
Thank you.

Thanks.

I have been off of the tramadol for over a week when problems worsened and realized that slowing of bowel action was a side-effect.

Trying to avoid Milk of Magnesia and other harsher methods but may have to resort

Had the obstructed bowel series of x-rays yesterday and they showed stool and air in the bowel but no true obstruction. Still someplace along the way there is some type of a construction as all stool production is very narrow.

Anyway. thanks for your answer and I am hoping that w lots of water and fiber etc eating the problems will clean.

In appreciation, XXXXXXX wd
