Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Based on the facts that the said female patient that you have mentioned has prolapse uterus and vagina with Cystocele and is facing problem of involuntary leakage of urine and is planned for surgery.

At the outset, I would explain the reason for leakage of urine .Whenever one has prolapse of the Uterus due to weak muscles in pelvic floor that hold uterus in position the urinary bladder also descends down resulting into disturbance in urethral angle which in normal circumstances helps to control urethral sphincter and there by to hold on urination. This deranged mechanism is the cause for leakage of urine.

During surgery for Prolapse of Uterus the bladder is separated from uterus and pushed up and placated in layers which helps to restore urethral angle which there by helps to gain sphincter control.

Hope I have answered your query.

Thank you.
