Suggest Treatment For Two Consecutive Painful Sores Inside My Nose
Question: I have had two consecutive painful sores inside my nose over the last 2 months. I cannot seem to get rid of them. I am 63 years old and otherwise is good health.

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having sores in nasal cavity. I would like to ask you few more details.
Is there any nasal obstruction or crusting of nasal cavity ?

Based on your clinical details, it appears to be recurrent furunclosis secondary to nasal picking.
Removing dry crusts, pulling vibrisse ( nasal hair), shaving with infected scissors are the commonest causes of painful sores inside the nasal cavity.
I suggest the following measures to overcome repeated sores.
1. steam inhalation.
2. saline nasal drops 3 drops/3 times for easy removal of crusts.
3. apply over the counter soframycin ointment twice daily.
4. anti- allergic medications like tab. cetrizine 1 0 mg at bed time.
5. stop picking the crusts, use sterilized scissor.
In case of persistence, needs to be evaluated with ENT surgeon to rule out other causes.
