Suggest Treatment For Tinnitus

Question: Hi, I have been getting a 'twinge' pain in my right temple that happens several times an hour. For the past 3 weeks. The pain is not bad, but worrying. Sometimes I feel it in my right ear or in my right cheekbone.

I also have developed tinnitus. I play music (and have done for 15 years). I woke up on 25th July with an intense headache above my right ear that lasted about 6 hours, plus the tinnitus. I got out of bed to take some pain killers and had the urge to clean my ear. I put my little finger into my ear and there was a clear liquid there. Since then the bad headache has disappeared but the twinges in the right temple and tinnitus remain. I am really scared.

I have very recently been prescribed glasses my left eye is short sighted and my right is long. The optician said that the headaches sound like eye strain. She also said that they noticed a difference in my vision in Sept 2016 but didn't prescribe glasses because I had no headaches or blurred vison etc.

Brief Answer:
Get examined and investigated by a neurologist

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concern.
Short lasting headache can be due to trigeminal autonomic cephalgias like severe unilateral neuralgiform headache with conjunctival injection and tearing ( SUNCTA).
The pain is unilateral with symptoms involving eye also.
You should visit and consult a neurologist.
Drugs like topiramate, lamotrigine can be helpful along with amitriptyline.
Steroids and verapamil can be added too.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Do get back to me for further information.
