Posted on Thu, 21 May 2015
Question: Hi,
For the last week I have had multiple things going on. I am 52 and have been very healthy, I rarely see a physician. I have always had tinnitus. I had chronic ear infections as a child, however, in the last week my ears have been ringing so loud I have to ask people to repeat themselves because it is difficult to hear over the ringing. Also, I have had lower abdominal cramps and yesterday my stool was white. Today it is a very light brown. I had my gallbladder out approximately 15 years ago. I have had no problems until now.
Just want to make sure you received my question

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to Health Care Magic.

Thanks for writing.

I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad. I have read you question completely, i understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.

I will hereby divide my answer in two parts one regarding your Tinnitus and then i will discuss you abdominal issue.

Tinnitus:

There are so many people around who have this problem sice ages but they live with it as they get used to of it.

But it gets irritating when suddenly due to some reason tinnitus gets worsened as it happened in your case.

Now you have got a worsened tinnitis ..you can't even listen to people well now.

Yes tinnitus can get bas over time but acute worsening is due ti acute causes.

There can be a number of reasons which can cause acute worsening of tinnitus.

1) wax in the ears , this is quite common a reason wax is there and when some one takes a bath or swim..water makes the wax swells up which worsens tinnitus.

2). Blockage of eustachian tubes..

This usually happens after an episode of flu or allergy this worsens tinnitus and needs some treatement with flu meds ..steam inhalation..and antihistamins.

3) New damage to ear drum.

4) Psychological..
it's rare but is present in people who are taking anti anxiety meds for some reason.

5) Neural damage for some reason.

For this I would suggest you to visit an ENT specialist for diagnosis and treatment this seems like something quite treatable.

Abdominal pain:

You didn't mention the exact place of abdominal cramps ..they can be caused by.

1) Stomach issues:

You just need to avoid acidic foor..tea..coffeee..caffeine ..fizzy drinks and junk food to control thay..also need some fibre in food.

2) Infection:

Gut infection can cause it but it usually is associated with diarrhea.

3) Indigestion of food:

If you have started any new food lately ..avoid it.

4) Constipation..

If there is constipation it can happen.

SUGGESTIONS:

-Increase fibre in the foods.
-Avoid foods which i mentioned in 1st point.

- Eat clean simple.

Eat whole wheat products and vegetables.

If that doesn't settle down you can contact a G.p.

He might want to suggest you some sapasmolytics.. may be an antibiotic like flagyl.. an antacid or PPI,

This problem can also be controlled quite easily.

As far as stool colour is concernes i believe it's ok and getting better.

I hope this answered your question. If you have more queries I am happy to answer.Otherwise rate and cloe the discussion

Regrads.
