Question: Hi. What is heart attack indigestion like ? For the past few days I've had indigestion that comes on for about 10 seconds and then stops..then starts again 5 minutes later.

About a week ago I was having tightness on the right and then left side of my throat.

I went to the hospital. they hooked me up to an EKG machine but the person didn't even check it or take my blood. Do i need to be worried about my symptoms ?

Brief Answer:
Possible causes:GERD/muscular skeletal

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and I can say all your symptoms are not typical for heart attack.

However, I advise to go to ER in case the pain will get stronger and for longer periods not being improved.

Meanwhile, I advise to ask your doctor to run another:
- ECG
- echocardiogram
- holter monitoring
- stress test

to rule out cardiac problems.

I also advise to run:
- abdominal pain
- chest X-ray
to determine whether your symptoms are from GI problems (e.g. GERD/reflux) or muscular skeletal in origin.

Hope it helped!

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

It might be due to:
- GERD or other gastric problems
- bowel infection (common virus, pathogenic bacteria/candida)
- changes in intestinal flora
- changes in your diet (new foods/drinks introduced).

I advise to run further diagnostic tests and to take:
- probiotics to normalize intestinal flora
- avoid foods that might trigger indigestion (spicy/chilly/oily foods)
