default
Posted on Fri, 4 Sep 2015
Question: Hi.. I have a tight foreskin. I am 26 years old. In the flaccid state I am able to retract my foreskin beyond the glans quite easily. When my penis is errect the same process is very difficult and painful although eventually I am able to retract the foreskin. What is this condition that I am suffering from?.. And how do I cure it. It is destroying my self confidence

Brief Answer:
Could be phimosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

There can be two possibilities of difficulty in pulling back fore skin.

1) Phimosis (tight skin with small hole) or

2) tight frenulum on under side of penis (a tag of skin or mucosa attaching foreskin to the glans penis).

In both cases, person might have difficulty in retracting fore skn back or might experience pain during masturbating or even during sexual intercourse.

This problem is not uncommon in younger males,so there is no need to be worried much as it can be cured completely.

In some cases it requires medical attention.

You should wash glans penis daily while bathing just retracting his foreskin downwards and by rinsing with clean shower water.

So be sure to deal with it as part of your daily hygiene.

Cleaning actually removes the excess smegma (which is fluid drops containing of dead skin cells, seminal remnants, urine deposits or sebaceous oil), leaving a healthy, natural, micro thin layer of this beneficial product to keep the glans moist and sensitive.

Never use soap under the foreskin as it leaves soap deposits that reactivate in the natural moisture, and cause burning or irritation.

Soap also removes all the natural moisturising effect of the smegma, leaving the glans and foreskin dry and open to infections.

If both this problem (phimosis or tight frenulum) persists even after daily cleaning then circumcision would be the best option for which you can consult general surgeon who will know best about the procedure and can help you.

Hope this detailed information will help you.
