Question: while at legoland, my son was struck on the right side of the face between the eye and ear from a security band that snapped accidently. ( this band was used to allow children to go on the ride and make others wait until the next time since the ride was full.) i am concerned about temple injury. he was not knocked unconcious.

Brief Answer:
No reason to worry

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

I don't believe that you have much to worry though. From your description that kind of hit is not likely to be associated with any brain injury. Usual worrying signs to watch for during the first 24 hours would be:

-loss of consciousness,
-vomiting,
-drowsiness,
-irritability,
-weakness of the limbs on one side,
-seizures etc,

but as I said, unless he has some condition affecting coagulation, I don't think he is under that kind of risk at all.

As for superficial bruises those would be externally visible and you would notice, but would be only a temporary thing anyway without any consequences.

I hope to have been of help.
