Question: Yes u can I have been having urination and leaking problems since November The put me on flomax another pill called diclofenac and cipro. I was diagnosed with an enlarged and enflamed prostate. Went to a another doctor and she said it's your bladder not your prostate She was good but an undergraduate turned me off a little bit cause I wanted someone with more experience to help me. I finally get into mount Sinai hospital and this guy is an assistant professor. Sets me up with cat scans all come back good. A cystoscopy everything came back good Not even anything microscopic to send out for a biopsy. But I'm still leaking and not responding to the medication. Now he wants to do a urodynamic test which I am afraid of

Brief Answer:
Urodynamics test is a simple and harmless test.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. There were two broad possibilities to consider - urinary tract infection and prostate enlargement. As you mention, the prostate enlargement has already been ruled out. The next option to rule out is the urinary tract infection (includes bladder infection and that would not necessarily get visualized in a scan) and I would insist you to go for a routine microscopy and culture sensitivity of your urine. The urodynamics test would provide valuable clues and you should proceed with it. It is a very simple and harmless test and there is nothing to worry.

I will also insist you to do Kegel's exercises. It comprises of alternate contraction and relaxation of pelvic floor muscles. This will strengthen them and help in better retention.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
