Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Melanoma

default
Posted on Fri, 2 Jan 2015
Question: Hi, I have a asymmetrical mole which has been changing in the past year. Although small in diameter, the edges and color are both indications that I have a possible melanoma. I have a scheduled appointment with a dermatologist at the end of the month but I am experiencing internal pain (similar to bruising) at the birthmark site. Is it possible that my birthmark is causing this pain, or am I experiencing some sort of physical manifestation of my emotional distress? Should I seek an earlier appt?

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

I have taken note of your query and I have understood it.
Pain may be one of the symptom of a Melanoma. However, it is not a symptom in all of the melanomas. Most of the Melanomas are rather asymptomatic.

It would be difficult for me to know the exact reason for pain at the site of mole and whether it is indeed a Melanoma, in first instance, without having a look at it.
It is important to rule out a local cause for pain before ruling it out as a manifestation of emotional distress or anxiety.
Kindly upload a clear digital close-up picture for me so that I may review it Or else you may seek an early appointment with your doctor.

Regards
