Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Interstitial Lung Disease

Question: Hello, I am having difficulty taking a deep breath. Has been going on for over a month. No previous problems, no asthma, not a smoker, not around smokers. I noticed it first when i was subjected to "prescribed burns" to the forest in my area in September this year and the air quality was "extremely dangerous" for about 3 days (thanks US government). Felt dizzy and hard to breathe then. It got better. Now I have a constant tickle, in my chest, and if I breathe deeply, it makes me cough. We have a wood stove in the house and it occasionally gets smokey (especially when first starting it if it goes out) which only happens every couple of days. I go into coughing spasms even if i am in a seperate part of the house when this happens. If I go outside (currently 22 deg F) and breathe the cool air it makes the coughing stop. I have no fever. No phlegm, occasional grumbly cough, but mostly just annoying cough and tickle. I use a cool mist vaporizer in the bedroom at night. Help... can this be an allergy? A Virus? I don't thing it is bronchitis or phneumonia. Would like some advice. Thanks!

Brief Answer:
It's ILD possibly

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Mittal. I have read your message. I think I can help you. The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a possible ILD or interstitial lung disease. A CAT scan is needed to make a decision on the diagnosis. Steroidal inhalers will be needed if the diagnosis is confirmed along with bronchodilators.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
