Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Flu

Question: Hi.

I have a flu like sypmtoms for last 48 hours.

My temperatur is normal but my nose and ears are blocked.

I am taking medication for cholesteral and blood pressire.

Am i ok to take sudafed or lemsip?

Pls let me jnow.

Hello,

Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
Sudafed contains pseudoephedrine and lemsip contains phenyephrine. Both can raise the blood pressure and would not be advisable if your BP is not well controlled.
You could use a simple antihistamine without pseudoephedrine and use nasal decongestant drops which will not produce much systemic side effect like psudoephedrine and paracetamol for any body ache or fever.

It is better to avoid as it may elevate the BP and make it out of control.
