Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Esophagitis

default
Posted on Thu, 29 Sep 2016
Question: Hello, I believe that I swallowed some food yesterday that will not go down. I can't eat or drink anything without it coming back up instantly. It's incredibly painful when I ingest anything and I think the the food particle is blocking my stomach. I keep spitting up foamy saliva and whatever I drank comes up with a bunch of clear saliva. Breathing is just fine. What are the best ways to clear my throat ? I haven't had anything to drink or eat in over a day..

Brief Answer:
As mention below

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear XXXX
Welcome to HCM and thanks for writing query
I understand your concern.

Your symptoms suggestive of esophagitis (due to GERD, infection and hyper acidity), disordered motility of esophagus, esophageal obstruction due to stricture and food.

I would suggest to consult the gastroenetrologist as soon as possible and undergo following investigation:
Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, barium study of esophagus and chest xray.

Meanwhile take following advises:
Take acetaminophen/ibuprufen for pain
Syrup mucaine, tablet omeprazole and metoclopramide.
Take liquid diet slowly and drink XXXXXXX warm water.
Glucagon can be given to release lower esophageal sphincter in esopahgeal obstruction.
Avoid spicy and oily food, take small frequent meal, take curd with rice.

Hope I have answered your query
If you have further query then I will be happy to help you
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
