Question: ok , I've had acid reflux symptoms for weeks, when I went to the doctor,11/16, he said it is just old age. I am also prone to UTI, which I had when tested last Nov. 2016, but my doctor chose not to treat it. My urine showed bacteria and blood. I complained of feeling blotted and weight gain. My doctor said he would not give me an antibiotic because he wanted me to see a urologist. The first appointment he could hook me up was is in April 2017. In the interim, my acid reflux is so bad that even drinking water is painful. I cough up mouthfuls of mucus and the water. I do not feel congested. When I lie down the vomit crawls up my chest and forces me to either sit up or throw up. Tums do not work whatsoever. I've done all the right things as far as diet change, time of eating my meals etc. Today I went to a pharmacists and explained everything and begged for help. She said it sounded like something was going on with my stomach and that I needed to call my doctor. I purchased Prilosec, which has helped immensely. I was able to eat without pain. Maybe I'll be able to sleep. I drove straight to the doctor who will not be available until March, but made an appointment with another doctor on Friday. The tablet which I took (two 20 mg) has already made it so that I am not vomiting and not burning. This stuff coming up makes me cough and is loaded with mucus.
