Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of UTI

Question: i am 43, not sexually active. Have not been for many years. My issue is regarding urinary tract infections. I have a history of IBS and food intolerances, and bowel issues which include fecal seepage. I am currently experiencing the constant need to urinate, discomfort in the tummy and lower pelvic area, both left and right sides and back. No burning or stinging on urination though. I notice as well that my urine is very smelly and also when previously taking samples to my GP to test she has also told me that the urine has been cloudy and smelly.
I have noticed that i don't experience burning or stinging upon urination but i do feel the sensation of my bladder filing up quickly, right after i have just been to the toilet, like a full feeling and i know that i will need to go again soon.
I wipe correctly as my GP told me to, I have a history of repeated Urinary Tract infections. They keep coming back. From last year alone to this year I have had several dozen and now antibiotics will not shift them and i cannot get rid of this infection. Have tried various different antibiotics and nothing will get rid of it. I am desperate for relief as i am feeling utterly miserable. No antibiotic helps to get rid of this infection and i don't know what to do. My GP doesn't seem to know what to do. The antibiotics she gives me do not help. Each time she has said that it was a mild infection but i have experienced a lot of discomfort. I am desperately seeking help.

Brief Answer:
may need to see infectious disease

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
Each time you have symptoms your GP should be sending the urine for a culture and sensitivity to make sure that you get the antibiotic that will treat your infection. You should also be taking probiotics such as Align and drinking plenty of water.
If this does not work then you may need to see an Infectious Disease specialist. You can be referred to one from your GP. You should also be checked for blockages in your urinary tract since sometimes a blockage can prevent normal urine flow and predispose you to recurrent infections. If your GP can not order this type of testing then it could be done by a Urologist.
Also never try to hold your urine for long periods of time since that can also set you up for infections.
I hope you get some relief soon
