Question: I am concerned about gastric health. I am experiencing reflux, noisy stomach, interstellar systitus, cut pain and alternating loose stools, orange stools and today almost black/ greenly stools. This can all bectraced back two years, a gut/food poisoning problem in South XXXXXXX and 5/6 courses of antibiotics in a year. I am about 20lbs overweight and have had considerable stree in my life. I am due to see a doctor who specialises in these problems next week but I don't want to go because he diagnosed my husbands terminal cancer. Not a happy time.

Brief Answer:
IBS , supportive care

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read our question and i understand your concern. Acid reflux, loose stools alternating bowel habits, variation in color to greenish black stools , with history of food poisoning and overweighing, stressful life, i would say its an irritable bowel syndrome likely worsened by stress and is not connected with the 2 years old episode of food poisoning.

Consulting a doctor and getting thoroughly evaluated for other causes would be wise. However till then, modifying diet and lifestyle, reducing fatty foods, dairy products, spices, alcohol, soda, beverages, processed foods, canned foods etc will help. Eat small frequent meals and prefer fibers and fresh fruits and vegetables. Use peppermint and yogurt in ever meal as supplement. Keep an eye on the color of the stool, if those continue to be black then try to get an urgent appointment to rule out melena( blood in stools).

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
