Suggest Treatment For Swelling On The Collarbone

default
Posted on Mon, 14 Sep 2015
Question: Hi Dr XXXXXXX
Thank you so much for asking about me. I have yet to have my biopsy (MOnday). Since then, I believe I have noticed small swellings on my collarbone, on the right side. My family cannot see them, but I can feel them. So I am v. concerned. I have been having a very tough time with my emotions, and feel v. pessimistic about everything.
So, I don't really have a question--just extremely worried that I have something v. serious now.

Again, thank you for your continued concern. I will let you know the diagnoses.

Brief Answer:
may be benign lymph nodes

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

From your other queries, I understand that you are concerned about a thyroid nodule which is to be biopsied. But going by the characteristics there is low probability of cancer.

Small swellings above collar bone are normal lymph nodes more often than not. Since they are very small in you, I would presume they are benign.

What I mean is that overall chance of cancer is low and please don't assume anything before a biopsy.

Hope this helps.
