Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Lower Lips
Question: Hello! I woke up in the middle of the night last night and my lower lip was swollen. It still feels a little swollen today. It feels pruney and is kind of sore. I haven't really changes my diet. I take Prozac and B12 everyday and once a week I take 50,000 mg of vit D. I about 3 weeks ago I started a acne regime.
My TSH is kinda lower but is being monitored.
Because I have a baby my endo wanted to wait to do an iodine test.

Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query. As far as the swelling in the lips is concerned, I have two possibilities.
it can be secondary to tooth infection resulting in cellulitis. The other possible cause can be a allergic reaction resulting in angioedema.
Nothing to be panic, you can consult an oral physician and get it evaluated. If a patient comes to my clinic with this kind of problem, I would have advised them to take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin and metronidazole (if you are not allergic) along with an antihistamine like cetrizine. So get the diagnosis confirmed by consulting an oral physician.

If the teeth are normal and no gum infection, it can be secondary to any allergic reaction to food items, tooth paste or insect bite etc...So consult an oral physician and get it evaluated.
