Question: Hello , I am getting concerned about a head injury I endured on Monday gone ,( 5 days go) . I was rather intoxicated when I fell and hit my head bluntly on my fire grate. I had a instant swelling and cannot really remember what happen as such but I think was due to the level of drunkness. ( I don't normally drink ) ,,,the next day and everyday since the swelling has reduce but still very sore to touch the temple area and around the side of my head. no bruise only abrasion which has now gone. my eyes have been puffy though and I still have a small swelling on my temple.
I am concerned as since iv had a pressure kind headache, earache that comes and goes, the base of my head also feels pressure like feeling and also jaw. I have been a little dizzy from time to time. not sure if I had any fluid from nose at the time as I was crying so nose was running anyway.
my face and scalp has felt kind of tingly like when you have been to dentist and the drugs are wearing off.
I went to the hospital yesterday and they checked my vitals and said I was ok , as I hadn't been sick and my eyes and ears seemed to show no signs of bleeding
I do not wish to waste anyones time but I haven't felt myself , my neck has also felt slightly strained. please can you give me your opinion if you think I should return to the hospital or just allow this to run its course.
kind reguards

Brief Answer:
No need for further evaluations

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I have been through your question and understand your concern.

After a head trauma it is very important for you not having lost conscience even you were drunk, and the following 72 hours not having any nausea, vomiting slurred speech or blurring vision. These are the signs which one would seek medical advise in order to have or not a CT scan of the head, which would definitely rule out any worry about the event.

You did well, going to see the doctor to check any possible ear or nose leakage. Since they ruled out this possibilities I think you should not worry about this anymore.

The headache is common after headache but it will pass in a few days, like all other symptoms.

So I recommend to do nothing and not worry.

Hope this helps, please feel free for further questions.
