Question: Superficial thrombophlebitis in my calf of left leg appeared on 3/22/15, diagnosed 3/24/15. I'm 44 yrs old and in good health otherwise. Need to know if it is safe to go on a 4 hr domestic flight on 3/30/15 and if so, what precautions are advised.

Brief Answer:
I do not think there will be much of a problem.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to Health Care Magic. Thank you for posting your query.
I can understand your concern.

Did you get a doppler ultrasound done to confirm ?

I would suggest you to
1. Apply warm compress over your left calf
2. Take bed rest for the time being and keep your legs elevated
3. I would start tablet Ibuprofen along with tablet ranitidine to relieve the pain.

Yes you can fly but I would suggest you to stand up and move around every couple of hours when traveling.
Move your arms and legs around and stretch if you must sit or lie down for long periods.

It would have been great had I examined you on my own.

I would suggest you to visit a surgeon . He can examine you, look at the reports and advise you accordingly.

Hope this helps.
