Suggest Treatment For Sun Burn On Feet

default
Posted on Wed, 16 Jul 2014
Question: I became the victim of bad spray on sunscreen almost 4 weeks ago. I had really bad sunburn in random spots where the spray missed. Most healed painfully but normally. However the sunburn on the tops of my feet which looked the worst but didn't really hurt turned from a reddish purple to a dark brownish purple, kind of like a bruise . I don't know if it matters but a about two weeks before this I had a cardiac ablation for inappropriate sinus tachycardia and was on antibiotics for a kidney infection when I got sunburned. I want to know if this was ok and what can I do beside using a lot of lotion to help it heal. Thanks!

Brief Answer:
It is Phot-dermatitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Ms,
Use of certain antibiotics which are photosensitive could cause Photo-dermatitis on getting exposed to sun. Discontinuing the use of drug, avoiding further exposure to sun and use of sunscreen lotion will be helpful.
In the absence of itching or redness there is no cause for concern. Slowly over period of time the color of skin over feet will fade.
There is no cause for concern.
