Question: I have a style in the same eye I will have cataract surgery on in three days. Do I need to alert my ophthalmologist?

Any infection prior to a cataract surgery should be immediately reported to the operating surgeon.

The infection has to be properly controlled before taking the patient to operation theatre.

You surgeon might want to delay the surgery and wait till the infection has subsided.

You can start on oral antibiotics ( Tablet Doxycycline 200 mg once daily for 5 days with topical antibiotics.)

But I reccomend taking advice of your surgeon first.
