Brief Answer:
Yes, this need change of antibiotic.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to HCM forum.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
If the symptoms are getting worse even after 2 days of starting the treatment, this implies that the causative agent is resistant to the given antibiotic(penicillin).
In such situation, we change the antibiotic to a different class like azithromycin, clarithromycin or levofloxacin.
So kindly get back to your doctor for antibiotic review.

Meanwhile, you avoid cold drinks and do warm saline gargles 6-8 times a day.
If you are not already taking, throat pain can be relieved by simple analgesics like ibuprofen 400 mg thrice daily.

Hope this will answer your query.
Be free to ask further questions if any.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Need evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,

Commonly we use NSAIDs like Ibuprofen(400 mg thrice daily), Diclofenac(50 mg twice daily), mefenamic acid(500 mg thrice daily) for pain relief. These are potent analgesics used in moderate-severe pain.
If the pain is not responding to these common analgesics, it is important to examine the throat and rule out complications like tonsillar/peritonsillar abscess, pharyngeal abscess etc. So kindly get back to your doctor without delay, preferably an ENT specialist, for evaluation.

Meanwhile, you can take one of the above mentioned analgesics along with acetaminophen 500 mg thrice daily. The combination may offer some help.

Wishing you a faster cure.
Thank you.
