Posted on Fri, 10 Oct 2014
Question: I was diagnosed with Strep Throat last week and did a cycle of antibiotics. The soreness went away but neck and glands still feel swollen. Also note that I suffer from reflux and anxiety and recently battled a case of shingles.

Brief Answer:
glands will take time to subside

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic,

Strep throat causes enlarged lymph nodes. Inspite of appropriate treatment the nodes can take a long time to subside completely. Do not worry about it , it does not indicate active infection.

Reflux and anxiety are not related to enlarged nodes.

Do regular warm salt water gargling and drink lots of fluids. Avoid cold foods.

You will be alright sir.

Regards,
Dr Rajkishori Godhi.
