Brief Answer:
Need not panic-Chance of spontaneous stone passage is high.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir.

I understand your query and concern.

The stone in your case seems to be impacted.

This location inside the ureter is causing you the discomfort to the penis.

The treatment plan in your case (ONLY if the stones does not pass out spontaneously) is a procedure called Per cutaneous nephrolithotomy/PCNL, a procedure that can effectively aid the stone removal.

You are currently receiving the right kind of treatment.

The harmful effects of an impacted stone is possible infection and acute kidney shut down even though the kidney is currently normal due the development of so called Hydronephrosis, which is collection of urine back into the kidney due to the retrograde flow due to obstruction.

Stones under the size of 4mm usually pass out spontaneously.

This treatment should help you to to get relieved in 60-70% cases.
Only in 30% cases you may need PCNL.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
PCNL is used for stone removal

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir.

I understand your concern.

Stones initially affect the kidney in which they are residing, later they tend to involve the other later if untreated .

Kidney can be affected even though the stone does not reside there ,since a stone can cause obstruction to urine flow.Urine is normally produced in kidney and it flows down from the kidney in to the ureter and from there into bladder.

A stone can cause backward flow of urine resulting in swelling of the kidney and its failure if untreated.

The stone in your case seems to be impacted and has to be removed through a procedure called PCNL-percutaneous nephrolithotomy.

You seem to receive the right medicines so far.Continue suing them.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Renal function tests will help you to know if kidney is under threat or not

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir.

I understand your concern.

According to your stone size,PCNL is not required. It should pass out spontaneously with excess intake of water.

But the stone in your case as per your clinical history description seems to be "impacted" or struck.Hence now it may require PCNL.

You are receiving the fine medication. No doubts about it.

You need to get PCNL when there is
1.intense pain not getting relieved through medications.
2.Severe worsening pain.
3.In case of lab abnormalities on renal function tests like Blood Urea, serum creatinine, serum electrolytes.
You can get to if your kidney function is worsening through the above tests.

As of now you need not worry or panic.

You need to visit your Urologist at the earliest if any of the following develops.
1.Intense pain.
2.Passing blood in the urine.
3.Infection symptoms like fever, and burning urination.

Thank you.
