Question: Hello
My 13 months old daughter squints and presses her eye sometimes otherwise I feel her idiom is ok as she can see smallest things on the bed even a hair
Also she loves to watch cartoon on laptop and doesn't eat till she is seeing a cartoon video
Is it ok to show her video at this age ?

Brief Answer:
Expert management required

Detailed Answer:
my dear,
thanks for sending your query to us.
your daughter needs specialist care as she is developing what is called as accommodative squint.Vision in her squinting eye will become less if not already reduced. At this age management will be with eye drops, proper nutrition and glasses if necessary. If proper treatment is not instituted immediately then surgery is indicated.
Any further query in this regard, please do get back to me.

What exactly is accommodative squint?
And what surgery can be required (ladki laser)
Is it same as accommodative entropia?
I think she does not have that
All she does is sometimes presses her eyes ?
That's all

Brief Answer:
Accommodative squint

Detailed Answer:
My dear,
thanks for sending your query to us.
We have to ensure if i am getting you right. As you mentioned the she gets occasional squint. That is not the same as pressing the eye.
Under the circumstances we have to wait and watch and keep the child under observation.Off and on pressing the eye does not need any attention but if squint develops then it requires immediate attention.
Do get back to me in case of any further query in this regard.
