Question: Hi Dr,
My baby age is 2 Weeks & 3 days. He has crossed eyes. Right eye moving around properly. But left eye moving up, down and inwards but not moving outwards. Is it normal to have Squint eyes in newborns? If not, what treatment should i take to align my baby's eyes properly? I am very much concerned about this. Kindly, explain.

Brief Answer:
Usually acceptable

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Health care magic.

It is normal for a baby to have some lack of coordination of movement and thereby squinting. But a clinical assessment could perhaps throw some more light on the situation in case there is any other pathology. If the situation does not improve in a month, it would be a good idea to see a doctor.

Thank You Dr. Is there any home test to confirm Squinting and Vision problems?

Brief Answer:
Too early

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.

It is not about testing, it is about detection of underlying issue. The underlying problem needs correction. However, before appearance of social smile (by 2 months) and steady head holding (achieved by 4months) it would be too early to comment.
