Question: Hello Dr.

Need advice for symptom: sudden spinning head (very intense, strong) for few minutes with some continuous sound in right ear and I have to sit down can't walk during this.

Happened 3 times in morning during 45 min. but after I took sleep for couple of hours it has happened only once till this time.

I am not sure if it have caused due to sleeplessness as I had to take care my newborn on last two nights and couldn't sleep properly.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Related to minor ear problem

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr XXXXXXX

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms and would like to reassure you that these are not suggestive of any serious problem.

The most likely underlying cause could be a mild illness of ear, where dizziness can occur along with sound in ear (tinnitus). These symptoms usually subside on own in a few days. If spinning is intense, you can take betahistine tablets for relief of symptoms.

Lack of sleep is not the cause, however, it may have aggravated the current symptoms.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
