The answer to your question depends on which level of the spine we are speaking of. Spinal stenosis can happen at two levels, the lumbar spine and the cervical spine, so symptoms vary according to location.

Lumbar stenosis is the more common one. The characteristic symtoms are pain as well as tingling and numbness irradiating in both buttocks and legs,what is popularly called sciatica. Another typical feature can be pain which appears when walking and relieved quickly by rest, called claudication. Symptoms apart from rest can typically be improved by bending forward.

Cervical stenosis is more rare but its consequences can be more severe as it can progress to spinal cord compression (unlike lumbar stenosis). Symptoms are due to compression of the cord like weakness and stiffness of the limbs with difficulty performing everyday functions, difficulty walking, balance issues, abnormal sensations like numbness, tingling, electrical current sensation in all 4 limbs.

If stenosis is severe bladder control can be affected in both cases.
