Question: Im 47 years old and in good health. About 2 weeks ago my dog jumped on me and landed on my right breast, and dug in with his paws. My breast near the areola is still sore to the touch only. There are no bumps, lumps or bruising, Its not red or hot. I was fine prior to it, and now I am just nervous. Ive started Ibuprophen 600 mg for the last 2 days.It doesnt affect my daily routine, but Im constantly thinking of it. How long before this sensativity/pain goes away?

Brief Answer:
potentially can last up to 6 weeks in some cases of trauma

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If you are concerned regarding changes to the breast leading to cancer then this is not likely to occur due to any acute trauma.

In most cases of mild injury, pain resolves within 7 to 10 days. In more severe injuries, it can sometimes take up to 6 weeks for resolution to occur.

This means that it is possible for it to continue for a little longer. You are currently not using the maximum dose of the medication, it can go up to 3200 mg a day if needed.
This means that you can consider increasing the frequency to 4 times daily at least to see if this helps with pain control.

Because this is an anti inflammatory medication, it would also help to reduce the inflammation in the area which would help with pain resolution

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
