Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
Although sore throat can be due to both bacterial and viral infection, the term sore throat is usually used for bacterial(streptococcal) infection. As you asked for the treatment of sore throat,I advised you antibiotic. The management of both bacterial and viral infection is same except antibiotic.
Flu is associated with running nose and sneezing but bacterial infection does not have these symptoms.
In bacterial infection throat pain and congestion is more. There is usually
enlarged lymph nodes in neck.

Sore throat, runny nose, coughs, sneezes and chest pains. Occasional headaches too
Brief Answer:
These symptoms are suggestive of viral infection
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome again
The symptoms you described are suggestive of viral infection. As there is associated chest pain, this may be due to excessive cough causing spasm of thoracic muscles or due to involvement of lower airway. The lower respiratory tract involvement(viral pneumonia) manifests as increased respiratory rate and breathing difficulty.
I would advise you to take antiallergic(levocetrizine) with decongestant(phenylephrine),paracetamol(for fever and headache also) and bronchodilator(salbutamol) along with warm saline gargle.Combination of all these medicines are available so that you need not to take them separately. Please get it prescribed by a physician.
Consult a physician if there are features suggestive of involvement of lower respiratory tract for evaluation and management accordingly.
I hope this answers your query. Still if you have any doubt I shall be happy to clear it.
Wish you good health.
