Brief Answer:
I think Levoflox is good enough

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I suggest you to continue the course of Levofloxacin for the entire course even though you feel better. Along with this you should ask your doctor about Dextromethorphan to relieve from the dry cough. I find these drugs much to the standard drug regimen followed everywhere in the world.

I suggest simple home remedies would work anywhere like Tsp of honey thrice a day and warm salt water gargles thrice a day. Tepid to warm water to drink during these days. You just need to give time for complete healing. I do not think you need anti viral medicines. The same Levo works till its course.

Hope you understand and follow this.

is it costing me any extra to ask follow up questions.....?
I did finish the Levo Anti - Biotic...there were only 4 tablets - 1 a day.
I went back to the hospital today....and a blood test showed I still have
infection in the upper respiratory tract....the Chinese doctor has proscribed Anti - Biotics that target this area. I don't know what they are called because it in Chinese. My cough had got worse over night, and I have been feeling terrible. Home remedies have only done little to suppress the discomfort . The Anti - Biotics have come in a 12 pack...and I take 4 a day....he also gave me something for nigh cough...and improved sleep. What do I do now...?

Brief Answer:
Continue the medication

Detailed Answer:
I do not think you are charged for two follow up questions.

It is difficult to understand the name of the antibiotic with the frequency and dosing. I do not think of any that is given 4 times a day for three days. I could think of same Levoflox which the doctor is trying to continue for three more days.

I suggest you to stay calm. Do not panic, continue the medicines for three days. Continue the honey and gargles as advised earlier. You should be clear off it in next three days. Stay away from cold stuff, keep sipping lemon or ginger tea.

You will clear the infection soon.

hi i was proscribed a new anti biotic for my chest infection. The doctor said take 2 lots of 2 tablets twice a day. I have taken one lot of 2 tablets yesterday at 1pm....1 hour after I got my prescription and then 2 more at 9pm - 9 hours later. Today I took the first lot at 7am...and the second lot 9- 10 hours later at 3pm. Am I doing the right thing or should I be spacing them 9 hours until they are finished ?. Tomorrow I was going to repeat todays routine and take them at 7am and 3pm.

Brief Answer:
You should take them 12 hours apart

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The doctor means that you take the tablets twice a day that is 12 hours a part. Yesterday by the time you were prescribed it was 1PM so he asked you to take at 9PM so that you do not miss the second dose in the late night.

So take them at 7AM and 7PM after meal.
