Brief Answer:
Could you be so kind as to attach images of the region to our discussion

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. If you do not mind me asking, could you please attach clear images of the affected region to our discussion for my examination or email them to me at:

YYYY@YYYY

but please do not forget to mention "ATTN: Dr. Shoaib Khan" in the subject line.

In most cases, oral ulcers are a result of any of the following:

+Consumption of hot beverages or food
+Consumption of acidic food or diet related
+Nutritional deficiency (e.g. vitamin B)
+Consumption of caustic substances
+Long gaps between meals
+As a result of an immunosuppressed state
+Side effect of medications
+Side effect of chemotherapy or radiotherapy
and a few others.

I would like to comment more accurately only after viewing the region, so I really look forward to hearing from you in order to help you further ma'am. :)

Best wishes.

Brief Answer:
Stress ulcer of nutritional deficiency

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.

Seems to me like either:

1. A stress ulcer causing increased acidic regurgitation which can present with other symptoms like:

+Acid reflux
+Bitter taste in the mouth
+Regurgitation of food or liquid into the mouth
+Dry cough
+Sensation of something at the back of your throat

Please do write back to me if you have any of the above symptoms, so I can guide you further. Please also mention what your level of stress would be on a scale of 0 to 5, 0 being non-existent and 5 being extremely stressed

or

2. Nutritional deficiency requiring the initiation of vitamin B complex orally

I hope this helps. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.

Best wishes.

I do have dry cough and a feeling of something in back of my throat. Taking vitamin B12 orally will help? My low platelets are monitored they go up and down does that play a part in this condition?

Brief Answer:
Gastroesophageal reflux disease is your culprit and diagnosis ma'am

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.

If you do have a dry cough and a sensation of a lump at the back of your throat then my advise would be the following:

+Avoid spicy food
+Avoid alcohol
+Avoid smoking
+Drink plenty of water
+Avoid carbonated drinks
+Avoid tea and coffee
+Have 5-6 smaller meals instead of 2-3 larger ones
+Avoid fatty food
+Avoid oily food
+Avoid fried food
+Have 1 tablet of lansoprazole 30 mg, one tablet 15 minutes before breakfast everyday
+You can also take 1 tablet of ranitidine or omeprazole 15 minutes before each meal
+Avoid stress

You can take vitamin supplements, but it is better it is a vitamin B complex, please run it through me before initiating those. Your platelets should remain uninfluenced with the current condition that is called gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

I hope I have explained things in a manner best understood by you. Please do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
