Question: I noticed these marks on my three yr old. The pimple like mark at the bottom has a very light red ring around ans at top just looks bruised. What can this be?

Brief Answer:
Allergy reaction to food or insect bite....

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through the photo you provided and noted that the rash might be due to allergy reaction. Most probable causes might be due to any new food you might have introduced to him or due to insect bite. He might have scratched the area that has caused such red marks.

I advise to:
- not let him scratch the area
- apply anti-itching cream locally
- if he will continue scratching, please give him oral anti-hystaminic medication (e.g. ketotifen syrup)
- avoid giving him any new food that you might have introduced recently

If the rash won't improve or will show in other areas, should consult with pediatrician for further evaluations.

Hope it was of help!
